Firewise Certificate

On June 28, 2019, the Greenhorn Firewise Community received recognition from the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) and has maintained this recognition every year since.

 

One of the primary benefits of this recognition is that some insurance providers will give you a discount if you live in a recognized Firewise Community.

 

The California FAIR Plan does give a discount to residents in recognized Firewise Communities--you will need to provide a copy of the current certificate, which you can download below. Other insurance companies may provide a discount--this can vary from year to year. Contact your broker or insurance company to see if they offer a discount and what documentation they need.

Provide this certificate to your insurance agent or broker as proof that you live in an NFPA-recognized Firewise Community.

We must renew our recognition annually, in November, which includes documenting a specific number of hours/dollars spent on fire prevention and safety projects by members of the community. You're working hard to improve the safety of your home and property. You can help us by documenting your hours and expenses spent on fire safety activities.
