Firewise Activity Reporting

Report your hours and expenses to help us keep our Firewise recognition (and your insurance discount).

The primary goal of the Firewise program is to make the whole community safer from wildfire by residents--all of us--working alone and together on home hardening and defensible space.

Each year in November, to remain recognized by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and qualify you for a possible discount on your fire insurance, the Greenhorn Firewise Community has to invest a certain dollar amount per resident on fire safety efforts.

We do this by reporting the time and money spent by homeowners and renters on  activities that impact the fire safety around their homes, in their neighborhoods, and along private roads. Obvious examples include burning, raking or blowing leaves, tree trimming or removal (DIY or contractor), cost of fuel, tools purchased, and dump fees. But there are many other activities and expenses that qualify (see detailed examples).

You're working hard to improve the safety of your home and property. Let us know what you're doing!

Please use one of the following options for reporting. You can report multiple times throughout the year--any time you have completed a project, monthly, or whatever makes sense for you. This is an honor system and no receipts are required.

•    Our preferred method--this online form.
•    A fillable PDF worksheet: Email to greenhornfirewiseboard@gmail.com.
